March 10-14th

March 10-14th

Friday: Field Trip to Wilder Ranch 9am-2pm.

Please bring sack lunch with name on it, extra snacks and water bottle. Students must have their car seat. We will have Brianna Bauen, Jodie Couchman, Terry Adams, and Jodie Stelck driving our students to Wilder Ranch. Thanks to all those who volunteered to help out! I really appreciate it! Students please wear white or blue (school colors), bring a sweatshirt/jacket and closed toed shoes! We are really looking forward to our Animal Tour.

Language Arts: We will learn about and practice Q. We will discover Q words and learn the Q sound. We will continue to read books, and work with our new sight words (me, yes, but). We love writing in our journals using correct spelling for sight words and inventive spelling for higher words. We write upper and lower case letters and punctuation. Each week we continue our literacy center rotations, centers and so much more. We are doing our Read-a-ton for the month of March (Please continue to write down the books your student is reading- reading log in homework folder. We are keeping tract in the classroom on how they are doing and it has been fun to see how the students are reading at home!)

Math: This week we will continue learning greater numbers. We are working with calendars to find patterns. With calendars we are also counting by 2, 5, and 10. The whole chapter has an emphasis on following directions with multiple steps. We are almost at the end of this chapter. We will also count by 1s, 2s, 5s, and10s to 100 aloud as well as continue to count our days of school.

Bible: This week’s Bible story is called “Jesus and the Children.” We will read the Bible stories, sing songs, recite, discuss, and illustrate Psalm 100:3, and pray together every day.

Science, Social Studies, Art, and Misc: This month’s themes are Dr. Seuss, Read Across America (Read-a-ton), St. Patrick’s Day, and Spring. We will also learn about plants (what a plant needs and parts of the plant) and farm animals on our field trip to Wilder Ranch. We will continue to do our team jobs, attend art class, music class, library, computer lab, and PE, explore the classroom during choice time, and more!
