Weekly Update: September 15-19

Week 4

Language Arts:

We will be focusing on the letter Aa this week. We will be learning the sound, words that begin the letter, how to write the letter and so much more. Our sight words this week are like, and up. We will spell them, talk about them, use them in our writing, reading, and get more and more familiar with those words.

Math:

We will be sorting and classifying. We will be using all sorts of math manipulatives and getting comfortable with counting and sorting. We will be using math vocabulary of top, middle, bottom, in, front, behind, over, under, on and classifying numbers 1-6 as well as numbers 7-10. We will be taking our first math test.

Bible:

We will be studying Adam and Eve. Our weekly memory verse is Ephesians 6:1.

Social Studies/ Science:

We will be learning “my family and me!” The students will be talking about who makes up their “world”.  In science we will be learning the parts of the body.

Upcoming Important Dates:

 

Monday, September 22^nd: K-2 Chapel, 2:25-2:55. Join us! Mrs. McCutchen’s class will be the host.

 

Thursday, September 25^th: School Picture Day

 

Friday, September 26^th: Minimum Day (school is out at 12). Crosswalk till 6pm.
