Language Arts: This week's letter is X. We will write x in capitols and lower case. We will be using our letter and learning its sound, what words start with the letter, and how do we incorporate that in our daily writing and journaling. Our sight words this week are look, yellow and four. As we are building our vocabulary with these three words it is important to stress the words we have already learned this year. If you can continue practicing with sight word flashcards at home this will be to everyone's benefit! We use those words daily. We will be doing our literacy center rotations this week and so much more as we are learning about President's Day.
Bible: This week we will learn about Jonah and the Great Fish. We will read the Bible, sing, recite, illustrate, and discuss Luke 2:11, and pray together every day.

Math: This week we begin a new chapter in our book. We are in chapter 8. This chapter is all about understanding teen numbers. We will write them, count up to them, compare them, and so much more. We will also count by 1s, 5s, and10s (to 100!).
Bible: This week we will learn about Jonah and the Great Fish. We will read the Bible, sing, recite, illustrate, and discuss Luke 2:11, and pray together every day.
Science, Social Studies, Art, and Misc: This month’s themes are Valentine’s Day, presidents and community.We will also continue learning about weather, seasons, and the Olympics. As per usual we continue to do team jobs, attend art class, music class, library, computer lab, and PE, explore the classroom during choice time, and more!!!
Sharing: We have a sharing time every Friday afternoon.
Upcoming Events:
Monday, February 17th: No School (President's Day)
Thursday February 20th: Field Trip. We will be taking a tour of Santa Cruz Dentist Office from 10am-11am. We will leave about 9:30am and return around 11:30am. Please wear blue and white (school colors), bring normal lunch/snack, wear closed toed shoes and bring car seats!
Friday, February 21st: TLCS Spirit Day, Superhero Day
Thursday, February 27th: Minimum Day, out at 12 (crosswalk till 6)
