Valentine's Day Week!
Friday- wear red, or pink!
I have sent home a volunteer sheet for the Valentine's party and our parent volunteer monthly calendar as well for those who are able.
Thanks again for the support!! (we can always use more glue sticks!)
Language Arts: This week's letter is W. We will write W in capitols and lower case. We will be using our letter and learning its sound, what words start with the letter, and how do we incorportate that in our daily writing and journaling. Our sight words this week are has, who and funny. As we are builiding our vocabulary with these three words it is important to stress the words we have already learned this year. If you can continue practicing with sight word flashcards at home this will be to everyone's benefit! We use those words daily. We will be doing our literacy center rotations this week and so much more as we are about to celebrate Valentine's Day!
Bible: This week we will learn about Daniel and the Lion’s Den. We will read the Bible, sing, recite, illustrate, and discuss Luke 2:11, and pray together every day.

Math: This week we reviewing all of the concepts we have learned so far. This will prepare us for our next chapter which is learning and identifing larger numbers. We will continue using the 100 chart to find our numbers, read our numbers, count to 100 and to see patterns. We will also count by 1s, 5s, and10s (to 100!). We even have special Valentine's Day counting planned.

Science, Social Studies, Art, and Misc: This month’s themes are Valentine’s Day and Community. We will also continue learning about weather, seasons, and the Olympics. As per usual we continue to do team jobs, attend art class, music class, library, computer lab, and PE, explore the classroom during choice time, and more!!!
Sharing: We have a sharing time every Friday afternoon.
DUE THIS FRIDAY: Field Trip permission slips to go visit the Dentist Office on Feb 20th! I have enough drivers! Thanks to those who have already turned in their permisson slips and those who have volunteered to drive :)
Friday: It is Valentine's Day. Remember to bring in enough valentines to share with the WHOLE CLASS. If you need a new class list please let me know. The list went home in last weeks homework folder. We will be working on making your student's mailbox in class this week. Please see the sign up sheet for the things we are still needing and for an opportunity to come and celebrate with us at centers and at the party.
