is discussing story structure. The class is continuing to work on their grammar

Math: In math, we ALWAYS show our work. Each week
the class participates in whole group instruction, independent practice, in
small groups and completes center rotations twice a week.
We are in Chapter 11. This
chapter is all about geometry. This week’s focus is on circles, congruent
figures, problem solving, line symmetry and slides, flips and turns.
Bible: Daily we do a devotional, take prayer requests
and pray.
The lesson this week is
lesson 20. The focus is on character and character building. We will be looking
at what the Bible says about Christ-like attitudes as the students learn the
Beatitudes.
This week’s memory verse
is John 1:13-14.
John 1:13-14New International Version (NIV)
13 children born not of
natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen
his glory, the glory
of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
The students are now
writing their entire verse! No more fill in the blank. Your student is getting
prepared for next year’s requirement. They can do it! Their verse is also a
great venue to practice their handwriting and cursive. Keep up the good work.
History/Social Studies:
The class is in unit 5
California’s Government. We have been learning about conventions, amendments,
responsibilities, laws, forms of government, federal vs. state, US constitution
and the Bill of Rights. They have been asking great questions!
Science:
We are concluding our
science unit on habitats. Look for a science study guide, coming soon!
