Week 2: Aug 31st -Sept 4th
We have started out the school year well! I am
very excited about how well we are doing.
Social Studies/ Community: This week will be
focusing on Getting Along with regards to the rules and how to be a citizen of
the classroom.
Science: We will be looking at the Earth and
what it looks like as well as learning about daytime.
Language Arts: We will be focusing on the whole alphabet.
We are going to see how well our class already knows and can recognize our
letters.
Our sight words this week are can & in. We
learned big & I last week. So we will already know four words! Remember
that sight words are words that the student’s must see and know. They do not
follow normal patterns (ie. sounding them out). As a class we are still learning all about
ourselves and to have a smart start to Kindergarten.
Bible: We are learning about Creation and
focusing on Genesis 1:1. We will be singing songs, reading the Bible, doing
daily devotions and praying as well as starting our workbooks.
Math: We have been learning about our math
manipulatives and how to use them. This week we will be focusing on sorting and
classifying.
