A Brand New Year!

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Hello Parents,

I can’t believe it is the second day of Kindergarten already. Your students are amazing and I am really excited about this year.

Yesterday I sent home the homework folders for the first time. You will see the homework folders Monday-Thursday night. Each day the homework folders will return and new stuff will be in them. We will talk more about homework and class at back to school night on September 3rd. Please put this date on your calendar (This is only for adults). There will be two primary sessions. Each session is identical so you do not need to attend both. We do two sessions so that parents who have multiple children in different classes can go to multiple classes to get all the information.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT IN CLASSROOMS, DESSERT IN THE AUDITORIUM, Thursday, September 3 You are invited from 6:30-8:00pm to our Home and School Club sponsored Back to School Night and dessert. There will be two presentations for elementary: 6:30-7:00pm 1st presentation.       7:15-7:45pm 2nd presentation. 7:00-8:00pm Middle School presentation 6:30-8:00pm. Cookies and coffee in the lobby of the auditorium. This is an evening for parents only. ( http://www.tlcs.us/)

This week is a little different as we are getting started but starting next week you will see a homework check off sheet. It looks like this:

Monday
Read 10 mins

First Day of School Picture

Parents signature
Teacher signature
Tuesday
Read 10 mins

Math: “Kissing Hand” match the numbers and colors

The homework folder has two sides to it. One side says “return to school”, which means just what it says! Have your student complete their work, you then initial that the work is complete on the homework check off and then return both in the folder. And the second side is “keep at home” which is parent information, or work that is complete, etc. All of these things may stay at home.

Sincerely, Miss Rickabaugh                                                         jrickabaugh@tlcs.tlc.org
