First Field Trip

Page Banner

We are headed towards our first field trip!

On October 30th we will be leaving campus at 11:00am and heading down to Natural Bridges. The students will have some beach sand play time and eat lunch before we have a 1/2 hour tour of the park and butterfly resting place. We will be returning to campus before 3:00 for normal pick up.

Each student must bring a car seat and a sack lunch. It is recommended to bring extra snacks and a water bottle. Students must wear closed toed shoes for walking. I personally love it when the whole class wears our school colors- blue/white but it is not mandatory.

Reminder: Permission slips with the $2 fee are due this Friday, October 11th! Thanks so much.

Chaperones: There is no limit for how many adults can come on this trip. If you are able to drive, please let me know how many car seats can fit into the backseat of your car. Also your paperwork has to be filled out and turned into the office a week before the trip.

Interesting fact: The Grove provides a temporary home for up to 100,000 Monarchs. From late fall into winter, the Monarchs form a "city in the trees." The area's mild seaside climate and eucalyptus grove provide a safe place for monarchs to roost until spring.

It should be a great trip! I went down to the grove this weekend and already saw some Monarchs flying in so it should be fun to see how many more arrive before our trip. The opening day for the Monarch season is this Sunday October 13th.
